Back to the farm – could this be the week?

The weather finally looks good for a Sunday sale at Todd Farm this week.  So for those of you who have been waiting for our next sale at Todd Farm – we will be setting up this Sunday (Oct. 9) – if indeed the weather holds out. Look for us behind the barn. We will have more of the great vintage buttons and sewing collectibles from my mother’s vast collection, as well as some cool new vintage finds we picked up over the summer.  [Todd Farm is an antique and collectibles market in Rowley, MA – open Sundays, April-November.]

Best, Birthday Card, Ever…

On my birthday back in August, my great friend Lynda gave me a sweet card with her gift.  The other day while doing some fall cleaning, I came across the card and fell in love with it all over again.  The card was a photo of vintage glass bottles and such on a beach at sunset.  The card is the work of K. Toma of Sea Glass Photography.  Upon further research, Sea Glass Photography has a website where you can see a large collection of similarly themed photographs which are available for sale.  The photo on the card Lynda gave me can be found in this gallery – image number 630.

In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue…

This weekend is Columbus Day weekend, a milestone in the annual calendar up here in New Hampshire.  Traditionally Columbus Day is the peak of the fall foliage season and there is plenty of activity around – from brimming farm stands, to county fairs and various festivals.  I look at it as the party before the reality of the long cold winter ahead sinks in.  In addition, the weather forecasters are predicting an unseasonably warm weekend – what’s known as Indian Summer – which is basically any warm spell following the first killing frost.  Trust me, I will be soaking as much of it in as I can.

Once again, wherever you are, and whatever you do this weekend, I hope you have a good one and “find” at least one thing that makes your day a little brighter.
