MMMThis week, all over America, millions and millions of marshmallow chicks (brand name Peeps) are being purchased and devoured.  People love these holiday treats and they are a nice harbinger of the season when they appear on the shelf early in the season.

But for the truly ambitious, making marshmallow treats at home is the way to go.  The new book, Marshmallow Madness! by Shauna Sever is the perfect guide for you to wow your friends and family with your own marshmallow magic.

About Marshmallow Madness!:  “If you’ve never tasted a fresh, homemade marshmallow, are you in for a treat! Marshmallow Madness! shows how to whip up dozens of fluffy, puffy flavors–from Strawberry and Vanilla to Buttered Rum, Root Beer Float, Maple Bacon, and more. Author Shauna Sever also includes easy recipes for homemade graham crackers, drinks for mallow dunking, and a host of irresistible desserts, including Lemon Dream Whoopie Pies, Blonde Rocky Road, and S’mores Cupcakes.”

Ms. Sever, who writes the popular baking blog Piece of Cake, has brought together a nice collection of Marshmallow recipes sure to bring out the kid in you.  The book features a delightful match up of recipes in the bracket style of the other seasonal “madness” which is just fun.

Even if you think you don’t like Marshmallows, you may find a recipe in here that will change your mind.  But be warned, I speak from experience when I say that making your own Marshmallows can be messy, somewhat dangerous and always, very sticky.

Marshmallow Madness! is available from Amazon and other booksellers.
