Well, it was bound to happen, after all the times I’ve checked in on Mt. Chocorua for you over the past year we have never seen it shrouded in clouds.  This is surely a sign of the unusually mild winter and exceptionally dry spring we have had up here in New Hampshire.

But we need the rain, so it is good to see the mountain covered in low clouds.  However, even when shrouded, Mount Chocorua is impressive as you can just tell she looms behind the clouds.

Meanwhile, as we check in at Lake Chocorua (at the foot of the glorious Mount Chocorua in Tamworth, NH), it is hard to see where the clouds end and the water begins.  Soon, the skies will clear and there will be signs of green all over the place.

Meanwhile, I spotted this little creature while out on a hike in nearby Hemenway State Forest in Tamworth, NH yesterday.  I think it is a young female moose.  She was as surprised to see me as I was to see her, but she didn’t run away.  I was able to get out my camera and snap a few pictures before I quietly walked away.
