of the great joys of spring in New England is being close to the wonderful Brimfield, MA antiques show held every May.  More than 5,000 antique dealers from all over the U.S. converge on a collection of fields in this Western Massachusetts town three time a year in what is known as the Brimfield Show.

The first show of the season begins today and runs through May 13th – followed by shows in July and September.  But for me a trip to Brimfield in May is the best.  After a long winter of anticipation by early May I am just bursting at the seams to get to a good antique show and Brimfield is the mother of them all.

I will be making the pilgrimage later in the week – Thursday and Friday with my lifelong friend Lynda.  Lynda and I have made the trip to the show many times over the years and we always have a great time.

What will I be hunting for?  Well, I always keep my eyes open for anything cool that just strikes me, but this year I will be looking for hidden gem oil paintings to add to my collection.

Watch for complete reports here.
