Many years ago I attended the “Dangerous Curves: Art of the Guitar” exhibition at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts (MFA). I went with my brother, who enjoys such things, and I was amazed at how the guitars featured in the show were indeed works of art.
Likewise, the wonderful book, The Guitar Collection, which has the most awesome packaging I have ever seen in a book, highlights this great instrument and the masterpieces that it has inspired.
About The Guitar Collection: “For the first time ever, the world’s most elite guitars are presented together in this limited collector’s edition. Years in the making and featuring high-definition, state-of-the-art original photography throughout, The Guitar Collection is half music documentary and half photographic odyssey. Corralling the cumulative knowledge of dozens of guitar experts and preeminent music photographers, The Guitar Collection features the most stunning, singularly significant, coveted, priceless guitars from the most exclusive public and private collections around the world.”
Looking at the amazing photography in this book, all printed in large format, you can really appreciate the artistry in the instruments. But be warned – this book has a hefty price tag and is for the seriously collector and aficionado only. But it is nice to look at for the rest of us.
