beachBefore heading down here to Wellfleet (on the glorious shores of Cape Cod) I put together gift bags for my fellow vacationers – something I do every year.  Usually I collect a bunch of fun beach type items and mix them with more practical goods. Picture something like a funky beach towel along with travel-sized tubes of toothpaste.

Well, my gifts were all set when I stumbled across the perfect addition to any summer-themed swag bag: The Instant Beach Ball from Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store.

About The Instant Beach Ball from Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store“Meeting dragging on a bit too long? Instant Beach Ball! Awkward first date? Instant Beach Ball! Waiting in line at the grocery store? Instant Beach Ball! This colorful 12″ round, vinyl beach ball will turn any boring or uncomfortable situation into a rollicking funfest! Comes deflated in an illustrated tin.”

The best part of this cool gift item is that it comes in a tin!  I love tins and I love beach balls.  I have these on order to put away for next year’s gifts.  Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

G&GIn the past I have gone on and on about how much I look forward to every issue of Garden & Gun magazine. As a New England Yankee, it is fun to read Garden & Gun which promotes life in the American South and it is wonderful.

I recently discovered that in addition to the magazine and a great companion website which includes most of the periodical’s editorial content, Garden & Gun has an online store where you can purchase Garden & Gun logo products, special items from Garden & Gun partners, and photographs that have appeared in the magazine – like the one featured here.

Today is my first full day of vacation on Cape Code and I brought with me a whole tote bag of magazines, including Garden & Gun, which I plan to bring with me to the beach = heaven!
