ANGELAI guess it is a bad thing when something is so well designed or looks so good that you are afraid to use it for its intended purpose.  I think about the grandmother’s sofa encased in plastic so it doesn’t get ruined in case the Pope stops by for a visit someday.

I love how a good area rug can really transform a room – and I have seen some in my day that would work just as well on a wall as art as it does on the floor.  The area rugs I have found designed by Maine-based and Maine-inspired designer Angela Adams definitely fall into the “too nice to walk on” category.

About Angela Adams“Angela Adams is a renowned design house based in Portland, Maine known for a unique and optimistic visual language of color, pattern and form. Dedicated to celebrating a natural lifestyle, Angela Adams creates well-crafted modern home furnishings and lifestyle accessories inspired by the timeless beauty of nature and the ever-changing landscape of Maine.”

Ms. Adams’ work suggests the landscape and beauty of nature found in Maine, like this Stream Hand-Tufted Wool Rug: “The series of rugs called ‘Pathways’ are inspired by walks in the woods, on the beach and in the garden. They transform your home into inspiring spaces that remind us of our favorite places in nature and times spent there. Stream is inspired by the water on the shore rolling back into the ocean, carving curvy lines in the sand around rocks and shells as it flows by. Made with 100% New Zealand Wool. Cut and loop pile.”
