rockp2One of my most treasured possession is a signed first edition of Annie Lebovitz’s landmark book Annie Leibovitz: Photographs, 1970-1990, which has literally been on my coffee table (tables) for 20 years.  Many of the photographs in the book are iconic portrayals of iconic rock stars – including Tina Turner and John Lennon just to name a couple.

There is something about the art of rock and roll photography that captures the imagination or maybe enthralls the teenager from times gone by that lives inside of us.

I think I have found some kindred spirits in the folks at Rock Paper Photo Fine Art Photography, a place dedicated to preserving and sharing the great moments in our popular culture.

About Rock Paper Photo Fine Art Photography: “We love great photography. A great photograph captures a mere fraction of a second in time. That great moment when the eye, the mind and the heart combine. From the iconic to the never-before-seen archives we’re discovering every day. A great photo should capture the attitude, the soul and the mind of a great moment. Part of our mission is to preserve these great moments. We remember where we were and what we were doing when they happened. Our photographers spend their lives covering great moments in music, sports, fashion, Hollywood, and the performing arts. And like those great personalities, each of our photographs speaks in its own voice. Loud, defiant, quiet, unassuming. It should be simple, but we know it isn’t. That’s why we created Rock Paper Photo.”

Rock Paper Photo has a ton of images that will make you feel nostalgic, like The Beatles Mad Day by Tom Murray, or even the early Madonna by Richard Corman.

Perhaps due to my fondness for Ms. Leibovitz, I like Rock Paper Photo’s Rolling Stone Cover Series: “This unique fine art product pairs reprints of the covers with the original photographs. Both pieces are hand-signed by the photographer and produced as archival pigment prints in limited editions of 200.”
