OYSTBUCKWe ended January with a little bit of a traditional January thaw, with a couple of days of temperatures well above freeing. However, this respite was short lived with temperatures dipping back to the single digits overnight and a long-range forecast calling for frigid air and a few bouts of snow in the coming days.

But the brief warmish weather had me dreaming of summer and looking forward to my annual seaside vacation in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. As my Nana used to say “don’t wish your life away” – so as much as I am looking forward to summer, I don’t want to rush these precious – albeit cold – days of indoor pursuits.

Anyway, when I think of Wellfleet I think of oysters. Sure enough while Wellfleet oysters were on my mind I came across this Oyster Belt Buckle from Sid Mashburn.

About the Oyster Belt Buckle from Sid Mashburn: “Handcast from an oyster that a Massachusetts metalworker plucked from a bed behind his workshop. Made to fit a 1” strap with snaps and holes. Absolutely one of our favorite things.”

I think showing up at Wellfleet’s Mac’s Shack next season wearing this thing would be super cool.
