50bikeI love riding my bike. I have a route around the Ossipee Valley here in New Hampshire that I have biked a thousand times over the years. Just about every day in the summer I tackle the same route and I love it. I find something comforting about riding the same roads and watching the same scenery pass by day after day.

However, I also love taking a bike out on other roads whenever possible, especially when traveling to a new place. Although my pursuits have been fairly humble, I love fantasizing about taking a bike out in exotic places, like those featured in the book Fifty Places to Bike Before You Die – Biking Experts Share the World’s Greatest Destinations by Chris Santella.

About Fifty Places to Bike Before You Die by Chris Santella: Fifty Places to Bike Before You Die is the ninth addition to the bestselling Fifty Places series by Chris Santella. Biking has grown increasingly popular in recent years, as both a leisure and an extreme exercise activity, and Santella covers trips for cyclists of every level. Fifty Places to Bike covers environments as varied as the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia, the Indochina Trail in Vietnam, and the urban jungle of New York City. With a healthy mix of international and national locations, the 50 chapters capture the breathtaking vistas cyclists will enjoy around the world. As always, the places are brought to life with more than 40 stunning color photographs.”

I’ve taken bike rides in just about every place I have ever traveled, most notably through the streets of Buenos Aires, which was harrowing and a tale for another time. Flipping through Fifty Places to Bike Before You Die makes me want to jump on a plane and take on every road and trail featured – even if it is just to be able to tell my readers all about it.

Fifty Places to Bike Before You Die by Chris Santella is available from Amazon and other fine booksellers.
