FF: The 18 year old Macallan Scotch

FF!If you like scotch and have never tried a fine aged Scotch – you know the pricey kind – then you really do not know what you are missing. And there are few aged single malt scotches better than Macallan.

About the 18 year old Macallan Scotch: “This legendary Single Malt is Triple Cask matured for a *minimum of 18 years in a unique, complex combination of Exceptional Oak Casks; Spanish oak casks seasoned with sherry, American oak casks seasoned with sherry and American oak casks seasoned with bourbon. This delivers an extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex Single Malt.”

You have to love a scotch brands that sells a $900 flask:The Macallan Flask protects your precious whisky in any situation! It’s a true statement in drinking Single Malt.”

FF: Cool London Shops

FF2I know I said I was done with my London posts, but I keep finding notes about things I wanted to mention – like some of the great shops I discovered selling cool home furnishings.

One of my favorites was After Noah in Islington.  After Noah has a great collection of new and vintage items that fits the Lost Cowboy sensibility perfectly. For example, check out their cool line of vintage telephones or vintage globes.

In the more mainstream chain store department, there is Homebase: “Homebase is a leading home enhancement retailer selling over 38,000 products for the home and garden. It has more than 340 large, out-of-town stores throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland serving around 64 million customers a year.” Think a little bit Home Depot, a little bit IKEA, and everything you need to, well, “enhance” your home.

A much more quaint “home enhancement” retailer is Found Home Store and Interiors: “At Found we want to bring you something different. We have hand-picked our range from emerging designers, smaller manufacturers and established icons to offer you an unrivalled selection of stylish products with character and soul, not always available on the high street. We endeavour to offer Design led homewares & gifts without the designer price tag wherever possible…”

Other UK home goods shops include:

Cloudberry LivingBoConceptDwell – and Habitat.

FF: The awesome signs from the Sideshow Sign Company

FF3I really wish I needed a sign. Not a cosmic thing, but the kind of thing you put outside to advertise your business. Why do I have this wish? Because if I did need a sign I would definitely look into the services of the Nashville-based Sideshow Sign Company.

About the Sideshow Sign Company: “Sideshow Sign Co. specializes in giant throwback vintage prints and light-up marquee letters influenced by the entertainment industry, science, and antiquarian educational material. Everything I make is carefully aged and expertly wired, made from fine art canvas or salvage wood and bent steel, speed rusted and banged-up proper.”
