ALH

It is the day after Labor Day, traditionally a time when people think about back to school and preparing for autumn and the long winter ahead. Not me. Labor Day is the sign post on the way to my traditional late summer vacation in the glorious seaside village of Wellfleet on Cape Cod.

For me, the day after Labor Day is the day I start packing for my trip which starts this weekend. Over the next few days I will be featuring a few “finds” that either put me in mind of vacation or that I would love to have with me on vacation.

First off, you can be sure there will be a few nights where I will sip bourbon while lounging with my friends. I have found the perfect decanter for a night of imbibing by the ocean: The Artel Lighthouse Decanter from L.V. Harkness.

About the Artel Lighthouse Decanter from L.V. Harkness: “ARTĚL continues its nautical tradition with the Golden Age of Yachting motif, a sleek barware series that uniquely captures the graceful lines of illustrious sailing ships. From schooners to cutters, the collection features six different yachts sailing through picturesque seascapes. The complex lines of the masts, hulls, and billowing sails of these splendid craft are expertly engraved on each piece. Inspired by the paintings of William Bishop and Thomas Hoyne, as well as the photography of Charles E. Bolles and Morris Rosenfeld, the Golden Age of Yachting collection is sure to appeal to mariners and yachtsman (and their friends).”

AYJThe lighthouse goes great with the companion Artel Yachting Jubilee glasses: “ARTĚL continues its nautical tradition with the Golden Age of Yachting motif, a sleek barware series that uniquely captures the graceful lines of illustrious sailing ships. From schooners to cutters, the collection features six different yachts sailing through picturesque seascapes. The complex lines of the masts, hulls, and billowing sails of these splendid craft are expertly engraved on each piece”

OK, so these items are quite pricey – the decanter is around $500. So I found a budget version, this Sail Boat Decanter I found on Amazon for less the $50.

Cheers!
