ptwOne of the best things about visiting Wellfleet, MA (the charming seaside village where I am currently enjoying my vacation) is the stunning scenery that changes with the light, the time or day and the seasons. In short, Wellfleet and the surrounding area that is known as the “lower” part of Cape Cod is an artist’s and photographer’s paradise.

I am not immune to the lure of taking pictures of the stunning sights around me. However, I cannot even come close to capturing the landscape as well as gifted photographers like Charles Fields. Luckily for us, Mr. Fields shares his work with us in his wonderful new book Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet – The Lower Cape with text by Kathy Shorr.

About Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet – The Lower Cape by Charles Fields with text by Kathy Shorr: “Photographer Charles Fields captures the popular vacation destinations of Provincetown, Truro, and Wellfleet throughout all four seasons. The landscapes, seascapes, and aerial views are brilliantly featured in this colorful and stunning collection, while each new image illustrates the timeless appeal that attracts visitors to the area. The descriptive and extensive captions help to showcase the nuances of each season depicted in addition to fleshing out an area known for its history, artists, and writers. Some popular sites featured include Cape Cod National Seashore, Pilgrim Monument and Museum, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. This is a great collection for those planning on visiting the area as well as for those looking to relive and sustain the pleasure of their trip there.”

This book is a lovely keepsake for anyone who loves the area as much as I do – or anyone that appreciates masterful photography of stunning landscapes.
