LEGOOne of my favorite Christmas gifts every year when I was a kid were the Lego sets. Santa was giving me Lego products well into my adulthood (often a mini holiday-themed kit in my stocking). I played with Lego more than just about any other toy growing up and I still have a soft spot for them.

However, today Lego is way more than just free-form construction blocks. They have moved into the world of licensed products and scale models that are aimed for the more grownup Lego enthusiast. I am OK with this – but I still think kids benefit most from using their imagination to make something out of a pile of loose Lego blocks.

That said, the Lego model kits that are available these days are cool – like this Mini Cooper model kit.

About the Mini Cooper model kit from Lego: “Take the iconic MINI Cooper for a drive! This beautifully crafted LEGO® brick replica of the classic MINI Cooper Mk VII is full of authentic details, from the classic green and white color scheme with white wing mirrors and racing stripes, to the opening doors, hood and trunk, sporty fog lights, detailed engine and separate spare tire compartment. You can even remove the roof to access a tan colored interior with patterned seats, veneer-style dashboard, turning steering wheel, and moving gearshift and handbrake. And of course, no MINI Cooper would be complete without a picnic basket and blanket, the perfect accessories for a fun day in the countryside!”
