aa3This is not a political statement, but I have always admired Elizabeth Dole. More than just a political wife (she is married to long time Senator Bob Dole) she was a cabinet secretary, a senator herself, and even ran for president. However, it is her charitable works that make me truly admire her. Her latest effort is The Elizabeth Dole Foundation – totally focused on caring for military families – especially the caregivers of injured veterans through their Hidden Heroes Campaign.

About The Elizabeth Dole Foundation: “Strengthen and empower American military caregivers and their families by raising public awareness, driving research, championing policy, and leading collaborations that make a significant impact on their lives. Our approach is to assist the organizations and agencies that serve caregivers — spouses, parents, and others — responsible for an injured military member. Our efforts are designed to better align lifeline services for wounded warriors, promote synergy between the public, private, nonprofit, labor and faith communities, and raise awareness about the critical needs facing caregivers today.”
