My dad always had a pocket knife with him. In fact he collected pocket knives for a while and ended up with a pretty nice collection. But it was the one he carried with him that I will always remember. He would pull it out when there was even just a hint of the potential need for a knife. Like if you needed to cut a tag off of a new pair of jeans, or if he wanted to cut the rat tail he disapproved of off of the back of his son’s hair – but that’s a story for another time.
