FF: The 7 Year Big Boom Bourbon from SD Strong Distilling

I found another great bourbon in my own backyard, from Parkville, MO – just outside Kansas City. The 7 Year Big Boom Bourbon from the fine folks at SD Strong Distilling.

About the 7 Year Big Boom Bourbon from SD Strong Distilling:

“Endurance and innovation.  These are the hallmarks of Park University.  In 1875, Park was founded to educate the young people of what was then part of America’s frontier.  Students quarried the limestone used to construct the 125-year old Mackay Hall, the physical embodiment of Park’s long-standing commitment to transforming lives through accessible, student-centered, quality higher education. Carefully developed by S.D. Strong Distilling in a cave beneath the Park University campus, the 7 Year Big Boom Bourbon epitomizes endurance and innovation as well.  Reserve your bottle today.  When it arrives in 2025, we welcome you to join us in toasting a great collaboration and a historic 150-year educational journey.”

FF: The Kansas City Whiskey from J. Rieger & Co.

Meanwhile, even close to home, right in Kansas City, the fine folks at J. Rieger & Co. produced the very nice Kansas City Whiskey.

About the Kansas City Whiskey from J. Rieger & Co.:

“Our Kansas City Whiskey is a blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Light Corn Whiskey, and Straight Rye Whiskey, all aged at least 4 years, as well as a small amount of 15 year old Oloroso Sherry from the Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez. Bottled at 92 proof, Kansas City Whiskey is well-balanced, smooth, and slightly sweet. It’s beautiful when served neat or on the rocks, but also works well in classic Bourbon – or Rye-based cocktails such as the Horsefeather, Manhattan and Old Fashioned.”
