In a city full of iconic sites to take a selfie – the “Toronto” sign in front of city hall may be the most Instagramable.

About the Toronto sign:

“The 3D TORONTO Sign was installed at Nathan Phillips Square in July 2015 for the Toronto 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games. Due to popular demand, the illuminated sign still remains on the Square.”

I am continuing my search for the perfect charcuterie board – and have had many top contenders so far. But while in Toronto (home of Canadian bacon) I thought I would try out as many charcuterie purveyors I could fit in.

FF: Scheffler’s Deli & Cheese

One of the coolest places in Toronto is the St. Lawrence Market – a bustling marketplace that has just about everything you could ever want. And if you want great charcuterie you have to stop by a St. Lawrence Market institution, Scheffler’s Deli & Cheese.

About Scheffler’s Deli & Cheese:

“Scheffler’s Deli & Cheese has been in business at the Market since 1955. Odysseas has worked around the Market since 1982 and learned all about cheese and meat at various businesses. He met his wife, Sandra, here at the Market. He bought into the business in 1991 with his wife, and hired family members to help run the operation. He enjoys the community feeling of the Market and the lively competition between vendors.”

Scheffler’s Deli & Cheese is located in Upper Level 7 at St. Lawrence Market in the great city of Toronto, Ontario.

FF: Côte de Bœuf

Meanwhile, if you prefer your charcuterie as part of an awesome dining experience, you must try Côte de Bœuf – with locally sourced meats, these fine folks have a great menu and the most inspired charcuterie in the city.

About Côte de Bœuf:

“Inspired by the neighbourhood butchers of Paris, Côte de Bœuf is a traditional-style, locally sourced butcher shop. Each week we butcher a couple sides of beef, old-way by handsaw. Our beef and pork is all sourced from one farmer, Frank Batty, who is based in Grey County. There is nothing quite like Frank’s beef in this city.”

Côte de Bœuf is located a 130 Ossington Avenue in the great city of Toronto, Ontario.
