I like to read before going to bed and I find the best thing to read are short stories. Most of the time I can complete a story in one night – depending on length – so it is the perfect way to end the day. Some of the best short stories are from the horror genre which may not be ideal to read right before sleep – but I love them. A recent find I am loving is the anthology Shining in the Dark – Celebrating 20 Years of Lilja’s Library edited by Hans-Åke Lilja, a noted curator of content in the world of Stephen King. Shining in the Dark brings together some of the genre’s top talents (including Mr. King) all in one place with stories sure to entertain as well as terrify.
