Thank Heaven “dry January” is over and Lent has not yet started as I have discovered Pittsburgh’s own Wigle Organic Straight Bourbon, which I loved even before I found out the aging process included an additional year in Laphroaig Scotch barrels.

About Wigle Organic Straight Bourbon:

“We mill, ferment, and distill our Organic Straight Bourbon in Pittsburgh from regional corn, wheat and malted barley at our Strip District Distillery. We then finished it in used Scotch quarter casks previously used to age the famous heavily peated Laphroaig Scotch Whisky, which has been made for the last 200 years on the island of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Notes of Toffee, campfire, and cedar.”
