Well, I started the week with a dog-themed tray, and I am ending the week with one. I guess I am right on trend – trays with dogs on them seem to be a thing all of a sudden. I’ve seen a few dog-themed trays around, but none as nice as the Dog Birch Wood Tray I found from the fine folks at Avenida Home.

It is hard to believe but Halloween is just a couple of weeks away. I know this from all the horrible decorations I see going up around my neighborhood. Don’t get me wrong, I like Halloween decorations in general, but a lot of what I see is cheesy and way over the top. Anyway, I like more subtle displays of Halloween cheer – like the very cool vintage look of the Halloween Parade Paper Luncheon Napkins I found from the fine folks at Caspari.

I will admit when I was looking for a light novel to read I was attracted to this week’s Read simply by its title. Not knowing anything about the novel before I started it, I am here to report London Is the Best City in America by Laura Dave is a total delight.

About London Is the Best City in America by Laura Dave:

“Emmy Everett is reluctantly heading home to New York for her brother Josh’s wedding. She has spent the last three years in a fishing town in Rhode Island and, having little to show for it, she doesn’t particularly want to answer the questions she is sure to face about her (ex)-fiance, her (questionable) career choices, her (unknown) future. But she is still shocked when her typically resolute brother Josh confesses he is having doubts about his imminent marriage – and he asks Emmy the hardest question of all: what do I do now?”

London Is the Best City in America by Laura Dave is available from Amazon and other fine booksellers everywhere.
