aa1I am in love with the fine folks at Upriver Home, a Milford, PA-based merchant and purveyor of unique products for the home – all a perfect fit for the Lost Cowboy sensibility. Just one look at Upriver’s home accessories page and you will know what I mean – each product could be a find on its own.

About Upriver Home: “Upriver Home was launched in 2004 with the idea that the home, be it primary, secondary or even temporary, is not only a respite from the everyday but a haven for inspiration. The things we sell are a surprising mix of vintage and new from a variety of sources. We search the globe scouting the unusual to bring our customers the very best product with an eye for craftsmanship, function and form. Our collection is carefully edited and ever-changing. Our goal is to present in a simple and straightforward manner products that inspire and encourage creativity in your home.”

Upriver finds that caught my eye include, the Cedar Clove Beard & Shave Soap (above right): “Hudson Made Cedar Clove Beard and Shave Soap generates a lather that acts as both a gentle beard shampoo and an exceptional shaving cream. The exclusive formula rinses away debris while leaving behind the natural oils of your beard and skin. Those who shave will get a fine finish and smooth jawline with this soap’s extraordinary slip. The woody spice of Cedar Clove Beard and Shave Soap, derived from cedar leaf, cinnamon, allspice and clove, stimulates the skin and senses for an invigorating shave.”

aaa1This French Cafe Stool:

“Our cafe stools are reproductions of 1920s French cafe stools. What makes them unique? The use of salvaged sheet metal. Nice in the kitchen as a stool or in a studio as extra seating. Rubber-tipped feet prevent damage to floors. Slight surface abrasions, small dents and markings are characteristic of the material and are part of its industrial look. The stools will stand up to most uses, but should be protected from wet weather to maintain the finish.”

And the exceptionally awesome “Bank in the Form of a Pig”:

aa4“Bank in the Form of a Pig is a unique take on the classic piggy bank. Cast in polyester resin from a highly detailed silicone mold, the pig is then plated in a chrome or gold finish. We are told the piglet, from which the mold was made, lost its life from natural causes. The artist Harry Allen will donate $10 from each sale to the Humane Society to prevent cruelty to animals everywhere. These banks are not toys; they are fragile and should be handled with care. A collector’s item to
be sure!”
